Seth Front segued from six years as Director of Communications for Shomrei Torah Synagogue to Creative Director for Hamakom, following the merger with Temple Aliyah in July 2023.
A rabbi’s son, Seth brings his skills as a writer, filmmaker, and comedian to his work for Hamakom, using humor and humanity to emotionally connect Jews to their heritage and faith.
A graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television, he worked in feature film comedy development before striking out on his own, co-writing the feature film comedy “Nickel and Dime.”
In 2009, Seth turned a joke about a deli food zodiac into a gift company called Jewish Zodiac. Jewish Zodiac was profiled on KCRW and NPR radio, as well as in the LA Times and LA Weekly. He traveled to synagogues and JCCs around the country performing his one-man show, “A Culinary History of Jews in America based on the Astrological Signs of the Delicatessen,” which combines the culinary history of Jewish deli foods with a cultural history of four generations of Jews in America, from 1880 to the present. He has also performed stand-up in Los Angeles at venues including The Comedy Store and Flappers.
These days he's happy to be behind the scenes, helping guide the creative direction of Hamakom. He is married to Amy, a teacher, and is the proud father of Amanda.
