HAMAKOM is excited to partner with JTeenLearning to provide our community with a meaningful and accessible post-Bar and Bat Mitzvah program. Participation in the JTLC will enable students to continue their Jewish education, while deepening their identity, cultivating their leadership, and facilitating connections between like-minded teens in the community.
We invite Jewish teens (8th-12th grade) throughout the San Fernando and Conejo Valley to meet on Sundays (10am-12:30pm) once a month during the school-year for unique learning and advocacy training. Sessions start in November and will feature diverse guest speakers, roundtable discussions on contemporary issues, community service credit, and a dynamic social environment.
The monthly seminar will explore Jewish identities, wrestle with ethical dilemmas, build connections through cohort discussions, social and educational field trips, and relationship building activities. This deep dive is meant for those that are curious, thoughtful, and interested in challenging what they think they know about Judaism, while learning from guest speakers and like-minded peers!
Topics include: complex relationships, environmentalism, current global and local events, anti-Semitism, Israel, and Jewish life.

Fees
- $500 per HAMAKOM student with a $100 sibling discount
- $720 for non-HAMAKOM members
